Last Day of Project

It is raining this morning, but I'm not complaining because a week ago it was SNOWING! Today is March 31st...the last day of my time project. How fitting, then, that I'm typing this on my way out the door. It's back to work for me today.

I'm going to post some images from last Thursday's shoot. Noah was a good sport for his 3 month pictures. Later today or tomorrow I will post some of Liz and Chad's engagement photos. Have a great day!

Time-out

These images have nothing to do with my March time project. They're my time-outs.

Old Times...

When I was younger, my dad and I used to do a stained glass project every Christmas...it was a special time for us to hang out together and talk about nothing or everything. This window reminded me of those times.

I hope that one day Leo and I find a 'together' hobby that we can go to when life gets crazy. These days, Leo's favorite hobby is to spit food at the nearest bystander and laugh or scream...I have my work cut out for me. ;)

My time project

This week flew by! The nice weather always makes time pass quickly. For those of you who are sad to see the snow leave, I'm posting this picture from my Iowa trip just for you.

Jay and I took Leo to the park this week. It was the first time Leo sat in a swing...he LOVED it. I am looking forward to the summer months when I can spend some more quality time hanging out with my little guy.

A new week with new time

This morning I slept in until 8 o'clock! I haven't done that since well before Leo was born. Shortly after I got myself out of bed, I realized that we sprang forward last night based on one of man's most wonderful inventions: Daylight Savings Time. As I went around my house changing the clocks, I decided to use time as a theme in my photography for the rest of the month. It seemed fitting to make this a personal project because time is at the center of so many of my daily activities. For example, as I write this, Leo is at my side playing with his toy camera...he'll be wrapped up with that for about 2 more minutes. Jay is showering...he'll be out in about 5 minutes. My cup of coffee is running low...I should be able to hold out for less than 30 seconds. On that note, I better sign off! In short, I'm challenging myself to turn time into a creative outlet. What's your personal challenge this month?

I shot this at an airfield a few years ago.

A Boilermaker in Hawkeye country...continued

Here are the images that I promised to post from my trip to Iowa. I was a bit under the weather this week, so sorry for the delay.

Here is Kelly pausing for a moment to model for a practice 'senior' shot.

Thinking of my Jay...

I fell in love with this chandelier when I saw it hanging in a baby shop. Despite the crooked shades and the burned out bulb, it is uniquely perfect.

A Boilermaker in Hawkeye country

Hello out there! I'm refreshed and renewed after a wonderful weekend in...Iowa. I went to a photography seminar in Cedar Falls and had an opportunity to meet some great people, learn some new information, and shoot some fun images. My good friend, Kelly Vanderploeg, and I took a break from conference life on Saturday and went on a 'photo safari' in downtown Cedar Falls. I captured this image outside a little shop on the main street.

I'll drop some more photos on the blog later this week. Until then, Think Spring! (PLEASE!!!!!!)
