Julie & Huw: Love Life

It's been about nine months since my last post. While I missed the outlet that blogging gave me, it felt nice to focus on the other aspects of my business. I have grown and learned so much during this 'quiet time'.
So why am I posting now? Because Julie got married. My very first friend at Purdue found the love of her life, and it was my honor to photograph their big day. How could I not post...now?!?
Julie and I met at dawn in our pajamas during some sort of freshmen 'welcome' sing-along. We were unimpressed with our wake-up call, so we talked to drone out the squeaky renditions of Row, Row, Row Your Boat and Are You Sleeping (ok, we may have joined in when they started singing Hail Purdue).
Julie has one of the nicest families I have ever known. I hadn't seen her parents, brother or sister in about twelve years, but they welcomed me right back in and we shared some great laughs.
The buttons on Julie's bouquet were from her grandmother's wedding dress - her something old.
These purple heels were the perfect signature to Julie's beautiful wedding day look.
I love the glance that Julie and Huw's mother, Myra, exchanged here. There are so many emotions in those smiles. Myra's fascinator is totally classy and apparently the big rage in Europe right now. Did I mention that Huw is from Wales? :)
Elisabeth and Jack travelled very far to be a part of Julie and Huw's big day. They were tuckered out before the ceremony even started, but they pulled it together and did a fabulous job as flower girl and ring bearer. :)
A quick moment with Julie and her dad before he gave his eldest daughter away.
We had some fun at the Adler Planetarium. It poured on us for about 3 minutes, but we got right back out there and kept shooting.
One of my favs from the day.
Thom, one of Huw's groomsmen, sang In My Life by The Beatles for Julie and Huw's first dance. He totally rocked! What a great friend.
Julie, Huw, cheers! Congratulations. I hope you are having a blast in Hawaii right now. Thanks for letting Kelly and I chronicle your day. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and love. XO, Faye
