Speak for the trees

I took Leo to see The Lorax a few weeks ago and it was, by far, one of the best movies I've seen.  Leo and I had read the book prior to seeing the movie, and during our first read he asked, "Mommy, why are you crying?"  Oh, Dr. Seuss!  That whole "Unless" portion just got me.

"UNLESS someone like you
cares a whole awful lot,
nothing is going to get better.
It's not."
-Dr. Seuss

I don't want to spoil the message for anyone who has not seen the movie or read the story, but I will say that sometimes it takes a children's book to open an adult's eyes to the problems of the world.  Today is Arbor Day.  I plan on planting a tree with my boys and running around outside.  Who knows, maybe we'll see Mr. Lorax!  :-)

Something old...

Sometimes I like to go back and look through images of weddings that I've photographed for inspiration.  I love looking at the unique style of each couple and seeing how that style played out on their special day.

Jessica and Tom were just plain cool.  From the drinks they served to the music they chose as the soundtrack for their day, Jessica and Tom created a truly unique experience.  They served the Bennett martini and the Faye martini (their middle names).  I didn't sample the Faye, but I'm sure it was totally awesome (just sayin'). ;-)

Nicholas Barron calls himself a "musician's musician."  Jessica and Tom saw him play on one of their first dates, so it was fitting that he performed the music for their wedding and reception.  If you haven't checked him out yet, I highly suggest you give him a listen.

I just love wedding season!

Dorian: Young Life

It was a bit too chilly to go outside for Dorian's Easter shoot, so we improvised and had some fun indoors.

I admit I'm a bit behind the times with this post...it's been a busy couple of weeks. :-) If you're a half-empty kind of person then Happy Belated Easter. If you're a half-full kind of person then Happy Easter a year early!

Have a great weekend!
(And Happy Easter a year early!)
