Happy birthday to Alice

As I sit here debating whether or not to turn on the heat, I am remembering this shoot from September...when it was still warm outside...when I didn't have to bundle Leo up just to take him to school...when I could sleep with my windows open...when the sun stayed awake later than the twins.  I love September.

Alice turned two in September, so we combined her birthday shoot with a family session. 

Alice has a baby brother on the way.  Congratulations, Joe and Mia!

Papa Joe

When I turn 90, ninety, NINETY!, I want to celebrate like this man, Papa Joe, surrounded by my wonderful family.

You know you're loved when everyone in your family drops everything to attend your birthday party.  Papa Joe's family came in from New York, Florida, California, North Carolina and (I think) Idaho!   Every niece, nephew, grandchild, and great-grandchild got to wish this special man a happy, happy birthday.

I guess hearing, "Happy NINETIETH birthday" can be a bit much after a few hours :-).

Villa Verone, in Elgin, hosted this wonderful party.  It was the perfect size and added a nice warm touch to an already happy occasion.

I knew this would be my kind of party when I found out there would be Karaoke singing.  I even considered offering up my version of Lady Gaga's "Poker Face."  Umm, can I just say that these people mean biz-ness?!?  They were awesome!

Happy birthday, Papa Joe.  You have so much to celebrate!

Happy 4th Birthday!

Saturday afternoon I had the opportunity to photograph an unbelievable birthday party. When Tina first emailed me to book the date, I had no idea what a fantastic day she had planned for her son and his friends. There was a tie-dye station and a craft station along with a Scooby Doo scavenger hunt and a Scooby Doo pinata.

Not only was I was impressed with how organized the party was, I was blown away by how nice and well-behaved all of the kids were! There were almost forty 4 year-olds at the party, yet no one fought, no one cried, no one had a temper tantrum. What a great group! Here are a few images from the day. Great job Tina! The party was a HUGE success!
