What is your theme song?

Music is a huge part of my life. My husband is a phenomenal guitar player, and my son is showing an early interest in the piano. We can't keep him away from his Fisher Price Baby Grand.

Over the years, I have attempted to learn various instruments. I took organ and violin lessons as a child and after college I started to learn to play the guitar. Nowadays I stick to shower Karaoke.

There is nothing like dancing to a good song. In fact, I have a soft spot in my heart (and my dancing shoes) for Vanilla Ice's smash hit, "Ice Ice Baby". I recently had the opportunity to share my love for the song in an impromptu dance-off, and it got me thinking about a theme for my photography this month: songs that move us. I realize that we are halfway through April, so I'm a little late thinking of a theme but these things take time, right?

I'm posting an image of my husband practicing his guitar. I caught him warming up with "12 Bar Blues".

Back by popular demand

Leo's back! Some of you said you were bummed because you hadn't seen any new pictures of him lately, so here he is. Actually, this picture is about 3 weeks old. I'll get some fresh shots up very soon.

One of my favorite couples

Liz and Chad got engaged on December 19th of last year. They are planning an August wedding, and I am honored to be one of Liz's bridesmaids. We decided to use a few of Liz and Chad's favorite places as the backdrop for their engagement pictures.

First, we went to Wrigley Field, a place where they've enjoyed many wonderful memories (and many heartbreaking losses...sorry Chad).

Next, we went to Millennium Park, which is where Chad proposed (the ice rink was gone, so they opted for a reenactment in front of "Cloud Gate" - aka The Bean). By the way, she said, "Yes!"...again.

Our last stop was a visit to a highway overpass where we watched traffic pile up. Liz commutes to the burbs for work, so the two of them have had many conversations while Liz weaves in and out of traffic.

I'm so excited for the two of you. I know you will enjoy a lifetime of happiness!!
